Actor will discuss overcoming adversity and bullying
MILWAUKEE – R.J. Mitte, who stars as Walter White, Jr., in the highly acclaimed television series Breaking Bad, will speak Thursday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. in Marquette University’s Varsity Theatre, 1324 W. Wisconsin Ave. Part of the Marquette University Student Government 2013-14 Speaker Series, the event is free and open to the public.
Like the character he plays on Breaking Bad, Mitte has cerebral palsy, and he will discuss how he has overcome adversity and bullying.
According to the actor’s bio, Mitte moved to Hollywood from his native Lafayette, La., and began training with a personal talent manager. He sought out acting opportunities where his disability would serve to educate viewers, which led him to audition for the role in Breaking Bad. Mitte previously starred in the Disney series Hannah Montana.
