Free, public event will kick off 2014 ImpactNext competition

MILWAUKEE – The Kohler Center for Entrepreneurship in Marquette University’s College of Business Administration will hold an informational kick-off event for ImpactNext, the center’s business model challenge, on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union, Room 163, 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave. The new venture contest last year replaced the Marquette Business Plan Competition, which the Kohler Center had sponsored for 10 years.

Attendees will learn about the competition and have the opportunity to ask questions about creating viable business models for their start-ups. The event is free and open to the public; light appetizers and refreshments will be served.

ImpactNext, which is open to Marquette University undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, staff and community members who are dedicated to fostering job growth and development in the central city, focuses on the development of business models and – more specifically – the customer discovery and validation of those models. No lengthy written business plans are required.

Registration for the kick-off event is available. For more information, contact Sarah Eslyn at
