Fall music performances at Marquette

The hills of the Marquette University campus will come alive with music in November as Marquette’s music programs host their annual fall concerts, including the Marquette Symphonic Band’s “A Celebration of The Sound of Music.” All shows are free and open to the public. 

Saturday, Nov. 14, 3 p.m.
Marquette Gospel Choir
Varsity Theatre, 1324 W. Wisconsin Ave.

The theme for the Marquette Gospel Choir concert is “Love Perfected.” The concert will feature a melody of love songs.

Sunday, Nov. 15, 2 p.m.
Marquette Symphonic Band
Varsity Theatre, 1324 W. Wisconsin Ave.

The concert will feature selections from The Sound of Music in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Broadway show. 

Thursday, Nov. 19, 7 p.m.
Marquette Jazz Ensemble
Weasler Auditorium, 1506 W. Wisconsin Ave.

The jazz ensemble performance will include pieces from the swing era, as well as from the Latin, fusion and bebop styles.
Sunday, Nov. 22, 2 p.m.
Marquette Wind Ensemble
Varsity Theatre, 1324 W. Wisconsin Ave. 
The Marquette University Wind Ensemble’s performance, “Landmark Works for Winds,” will feature arrangements for wind bands from the last century, including selections from the Japanese school of composition and contemporary American composers.
