A shy Englishman’s plan to remain a silent observer gets out of control in the Marquette Theatre Arts performance of Larry Shue’s hysterical comedy The Foreigner. The show will kick of the 2012-2013 season and run from Sept. 27 through Oct. 7 at the Evan P. and Marion Helfaer Theatre, 525 N. 13th St.

Originally premiering in Milwaukee, The Foreigner takes the audience on a witty and tongue-in-cheek adventure as Charlie the Englishman visits rural Georgia, learns about himself and finds friends in the most unlikely places. The performance will run:

•    Thursday, Sept. 27, through Saturday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 p.m.
•    Sunday, Sept. 30, at 2:30 p.m.
•    Wednesday, Oct. 3, through Saturday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m.
•    Sunday, Oct. 7, at 2:30 p.m.

Ticket prices for the general public range from $16 to $20. Discounts are offered to senior citizens, Marquette students, employees and alumni. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the theatre box office at (414) 288-7504 or online.
