Greater Milwaukee Boys & Girls Clubs President Lyles goes ‘On the Issues’ at Marquette Law School

October 4, 2017

MILWAUKEE — Vincent Lyles, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, will be the featured guest in an upcoming “On the Issues with Mike Gousha,” Thursday, Oct. 12, at 12:15 p.m. in the Lubar Center at Marquette University Law School’s Eckstein Hall.

Now in his sixth year as CEO, Lyles runs the largest Boys & Girls Clubs chapter in the country. With 800 employees and 1,200 volunteers, the clubs carry out an important mission: Every day, they provide safety, support and meals, along with academic and recreational programming, for thousands of Milwaukee kids. Lyles brings a combination of private and public-sector experience to his job. Prior to joining the clubs, he was president of M&I Community Development Corporation. Before that, he was a director with Robert W. Baird & Co. and provided financial advice to Wisconsin municipalities, school districts and special taxing units. He also served as City of Milwaukee Election Commissioner. Lyles is a native of Milwaukee and received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin.

Gousha, an award-winning broadcast journalist, is the Law School’s distinguished fellow in law and public policy. His “On the Issues” series of conversations with newsmakers supports Marquette Law School’s commitment to serve as a modern-day public square for the city of Milwaukee, the state of Wisconsin and beyond.

Through public programming such as the Marquette Law School Poll, debates featuring candidates in significant political races, Gousha’s “On the Issues” conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars and conferences on significant issues of public importance, the Law School serves as the region’s leading venue for serious civil discourse about law and public policy matters.

The event is open to members of the general public at no cost; registration is required and is available online. Members of the media who are interested in attending should contact Chris Jenkins in the Office of Marketing and Communication.
