Local law enforcement leaders to discuss criminal justice education

Panel at Marquette to include D.A., Sherriff’s Department and MPD brass

A panel featuring distinguished local criminal justice experts will discuss “The Importance of Education in the Field of Criminal Justice” Wednesday, May 20. The presentation is part of the Marquette University College of Professional Studies’ third annual Law Enforcement Leadership and Management Reception, which begins at 5 p.m. The free, public event will be held in Ballroom E of the Alumni Memorial Union, 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave.

Panel members include: Kevin Carr, inspector for the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department; John Chisholm, Milwaukee County district attorney; Janine Geske, distinguished professor of law at Marquette Law School; James Harpole, assistant chief of police for the Milwaukee Police Department; Margaret Kendrigan, assistant regional chief for the Department of Corrections; and Richard Ruminski, special agent in charge for the FBI. David Perlman, assistant state attorney general, will facilitate the discussion.
