MILWAUKEE –John Burke, president of Trek Bicycle, on Thursday, Nov. 8, will deliver a keynote address as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week. Presented by the Kohler Center for Entrepreneurship, the event will be held in Eckstein Hall, home of Marquette Law School, 1215 W. Michigan St., and will begin at 5 p.m. with a reception in the Zilber Forum. Burke’s presentation will begin at 6 p.m. in the Appellate Courtroom.
The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required and available online.
Burke began working at Trek in 1984 and has been the company’s president since 1997. In addition to leading Trek, he is a founding member of the Bikes Belong Coalition and served as chairman of George W. Bush’s President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sport.
A native Wisconsinite, Burke is an avid cyclist and runner and has finished Ironman Wisconsin twice, as well as the Boston and New York Marathons. He and his wife, Tania, live in Madison.
